Bicultural Support Program
The Bicultural Support Program is a capacity building program under the Australian Government's Inclusion and Professional Support Program (IPSP)
Bicultural Support is time limited specialist support to asssit eligible child care centres to build their capacity to include children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds including refugee children.
Services available through the Bicultural Support Program include:
- Supporting transitions of children into care
- Encouraging principles of family centred practice and inclusion
- Facilitating an exchange of information about the children's program and cross cultural child rearing practices
- Working in partnership with Inclusion Support Facilitators (ISFs) and child care staff to understand cultural experiences
- Helping staff understand relevant cultural issues and supporting implementation of culturally appropriate practices for the child
- Linking staff with professional development, inclusion support and other relevant services.
The Bicultural Support Program is contracted to Inclusive Directions who manage and operate the program providing support to all eligible child care services across South Australia.

Specialised Indigenous Cultural Inclusion Program
The PSC also funds ARMSU / Network SA to operate an Indigenous Cultural Inclusion Program.
The Indigenous Cultural Inclusion Program is a capacity building program under the Inclusion and Professional Support Program (IPSP). Bi-cultural and inclusion support services are provided as a collaborative approach by the Professional Support Coordinator (PSC), Inclusion Support Agencies (ISAs) and the Indigenous Cultural Inclusion Program.
This program includes training, mentoring and support to assist mainstream, eligible child care services with developing an inclusive environment that is engaging for Indigenous families and to build relationships with and include Indigenous children and families already accessing care.
